What an amazing leap for facebook, the social network for college students online. Myspace had the same reaction, but this article is specifically about facebook. I also picked this article in memory of anyone who passed during the horrible VA TECH shootings. What a disqusting image and portrayl of the american college. Getting back to the article, this investigative story on facebook, shows how the very popular online medium, has recently become a way for students to deal with the problems they are facing after the massacre. Students may post memorials, pictures, and prayers, while also checking and making sure that all classmates and friends are safe and accounted for.
This article really shows how this generationw ill continue to thrive and grow on new technologies. In my mind, facebook, which was once just some silly college network that connected freinds from dorms and high schools, to an enourmous leap on how who communicate during an emergency situation. Instead of tying up all the phone lines and driving around frantically, facebook has eliminated some of the choas, through cyber space. Facebook and its poists are fast, clear, and to the points. The prayers and pictures are amazing, and alot of love is shown towards the familys' of deceased.
